The Touchstonic Journey.

The Scope of tourism in Sindh

Tourism is a social, cultural, and economic phenomenon that entails the movement of people to countries or places outside their usual environment for personal or business/professional purposes. [1]The practice of traveling for recreation.

After giving a formal definition of tourism, I would love to express what I think of tourism in my world of thoughts. Traveling from one place to another for enjoyment, entertainment, for the sake of knowledge, and last but not least one is to see the world and be witness to the beautiful and natural world of ALLAH ALMIGHTY. This also has been proven that traveling from one place to another helps to cope with psychological diseases such as depression and anxiety. Just a family trip to another place is a part to gear up tourism on a small scale. Similarly, it becomes an adventure or piece of information for the children and a break from daily work anxiety for parents.

Tourism helps to earn a good profit in the revenue of a country. for this reason, Government provides a certain amount to the department of tourism with every annual budget.  Just as some PRs 2 billion was allocated for Culture and Tourism throughout the country, [2]while an amount of PRs 1.5 billion has been allocated for culture and tourism, while the Sindh Assembly will get PRs 300 million development budget. Sindh Pakistan Budget 2021-22. It also promotes the positive image of the culture of a country to foreign tourists.

The scope of tourism in Sindh will further be enhanced when we came to know about the places of Sindh. Sindh is a province of Pakistan with an area of 140,914 sq. km. It is one of the most ancient places and a great treasure bearing historical heroes, mystery, love, struggle, majestic art, royal glamour, rich culture and so many countless attributes of my motherland Sindh. Sindh nurtured the great Shah Abdul Latif’s poetry with his blessed full messages, Sacral Sarcasm’s unparalleled words, and so many other saints with their morality. Many lakes and canals increase the beauty of Sindh. The ancient ruins of Moen Jo Daro, Harappa, the great graveyard of Makli hills, and Taxila are still reflecting the stories of past centuries with the eyes of these sites. Meon Jo Daron and Harappa both are part of UNESCO world heritage sites that attracts tourists towards themselves.

According to Lana Law,[3] Travelers are always looking for inspiration to guide their adventures.  History has always been a wow ingredient to be an inspiration for the people towards itself, that’s the reason Sindh has a great scope of tourism. That’s not the end, Sindh has also such remarkable cities which possess their secrets of being a place to visit.

Karachi a metropolitan city with its developmental arena comes in the top rank among other cities. The reasons can be many but as it is also quoted the City of lights automatically distracts the tourists to pay attention always.

The Arabian Sea provides wonderful opportunities for water sports and its sun-kissed beaches invite you with open arms throughout the year. Another one of the wonders of this city is the tomb of the founder father of Pakistan here.  An exhilarating experience of a visit to this Land can make pleasure and celebration.

After Karachi, we have Hyderabad as the second biggest city in the Sindh province. It also shares a great part in upgrading the scope of tourism in Sindh. The most prominent points in Hyderabad which grab the attention of tourists are; Bab e Ali where the footprints of Hazrat Ali(R.A.A.) are preserved for the believers to visit, the famous Rani garden, Pakka Qila built by the Ghulam Shah Kalhoro, also the art of Sindhi calligraphy can be seen with tombs of Ghulam Shah Kalhoro, Ghulam Nabi Kalhoro, Sindh Mausam, Al Manzar point and much more to explore the colors of Hyderabad. These are just a few countable points to which the tourist pays visits.

The third-largest city of Sindh with its notable places and another one of the most important reasons which grab the tourists’ attention in Sukkur city. The Indus River along with the Lansdowne barrage and the praiseworthy architecture of Masoom Shah’s tomb.

Every city of Sindh has different stories about itself on its own when one visits, just like Makli city holds the deaths of many notable persons within its boundaries, at the same time Thar deserted city vows for being thirsty, and also when the rain comes it joys too. The Gorakh hill station is the only place of Sindh snowfall occurs in winter and is the highest point of Sindh with its wonderful scenery. This incredible touristic point is very important for Sindh but unfortunately, ill maintenance slows down the interest of the tourist towards it.
